Andrew Cohen, Senior Underwriter
Albany, NY Andrew joined High Impact in July 2022 as a Senior Underwriter. Andrew brings five years of experience in underwriting, financial analysis, and project management services to the team. Andrew has underwritten real estate financing from the smallest of buildings to groundbreaking developments exceeding $100 million. Prior to joining High Impact, Andrew was a Mortgage Analyst with the Community Preservation Corporation, a leading CDFI. In this role, Andrew was part of a team which originated over $100 million in lending volume per year. He underwrote and analyzed a variety of multifamily loan products, preparing detailed credit memoranda and advising stakeholders of credit risks. Andrew’s work was instrumental in the creation of the Legacy Cities Access Program designed to rehabilitate long-vacant “zombie” properties in conjunction with land banks and NYS Homes and Community Renewal. Andrew has further experience with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development, the largest municipal housing development and code enforcement agency in the U.S. Andrew managed a range of preservation transactions including acquisitions, construction loan closings, troubleshooting projects in construction, facilitating project closings, project completion, and preparing recommendations for workouts. As a project manager he closed on several highly publicized projects, preserving long-term affordability for nearly 500 units throughout New York City. Andrew holds a Masters in Real Estate Development from Clemson University and a Bachelors Degree in Economics & Political Science from University at Albany, SUNY. |
