The High Impact team is a dedicated group of professionals with a unique mix of experience across sectors in the community development and traditional finance industries. This combination provides us with a valuable risk perspective that balances sound lending and a mission of community impact.
Peter Schaeffing started High Impact in June 2014 and serves as President and Managing Analyst. He founded the company after gaining experience in underwriting, portfolio management, and New Markets Tax Credit transactions at New Jersey Community Capital, a regional CDFI that became High Impact's first client. Mr. Schaeffing is involved in the design and delivery of all of High Impact's services, and works directly on affordable housing, charter school, and commercial real estate transactions. He is an experienced underwriter in complex financing structures including new markets tax credits, low income housing tax credits, qualified school construction bonds, and other subsidized financing structures. He is a graduate of the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina where he studied economics, political science, and finance. He is on the board of the South End Improvement Corporation in Albany, NY and previously served as Finance Chair on the board of Greater Brunswick Charter School from 2012-2015.
Camellia Loojune is an Impact Real Estate Analyst at High Impact. She specializes in affordable housing and charter school facility underwriting. Ms. Loojune has experience underwriting deals throughout the real estate development cycle using a wide range of financing structures and capital and operating subsidies. She previously served as Junior Analyst at High Impact. Prior to joining the company, she worked for the Rescue Mission of Central NY and CenterState CEO in Syracuse, NY, where she focused on community development, strategic planning, and process improvement . She has extensive experience working with various social enterprise ventures both nationally and internationally. Additionally, she spent two years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Forensic Accountant. Ms. Loojune has Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from Syracuse University.
Gregory Mikulka is an Analyst at High Impact. He provides consulting services to clients related to portfolio analysis, risk identification, capitalization, and other topics. Mr. Mikulka joined High Impact to apply his finance skills to community impact. He previously served as a Financial Analyst at the investment bank Houlihan Lokey, where he advised clients on valuation matters related to arbitration, litigation and restructuring, and as a Senior Financial Consultant at FTI Consulting in New York City, where he specialized in equity derivatives valuation. Mr. Mikulka graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with degrees in Finance and Financial Economics. He has held both Series 79 and Series 63 licenses.
